David Bradstreet - This Ringing In My Ear (Midnight Song)

Issued in Canada April 1978 on A&M 459. Unedited version from the LP "Dreaming In Colour" on A&M SP 9032. David Bradstreet emigrated to Canada from England with his parents; they settled in Oshawa, Ontario. Following high school, David studied architecture, but was drawn to folk music. He played the college folk circuit in the US and Canada, and made a name for himself in that genre. David based himself out of London, Ontario in 1971, and continued to play the folk clubs as well as branching out into television - both on camera and singing for commercials. He worked with Daniel Lanois (before he was a famous producer), Peter Yarrow (Peter, Paul & Mary), Phil Ramone, Mimi Farina (sister of Joan Baez), and became a member of Texas group Lazarus, who were managed by Albert Grossman. David returned to Canada in 1974, the year Valdy recorded and had success with his song, "Renaissance." David's connection to Valdy won him a contract with A&M. His first solo album was released in 1977, and it earned him a Juno for "Best New Male Vocalist" that year. David's second album, "Dreaming In Colour" won critical praise but did not sell well, nor chart in RPM. As of 2008, it has never been reissued on vinyl or CD.
